We'd recommend finding one with strong elastic straps if you are shopping for a larger case, though, to stop your console jostling around in any leftover space. Can a Nintendo Switch Lite fit in a Switch case?Ī Nintendo Switch Lite will fit into either a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch OLED designed case. That said, many models are now built to spec for both the OLED and the standard edition so it does depend on when you picked up your protector. The Nintendo Switch OLED is ever so slightly larger than the standard edition console, which means you'll need to pick up a new case if you're upgrading. Do you need a new case for a Nintendo Switch OLED? Not only that, but you'll also find extra storage options to keep all your games and gadgets close to hand. The best Nintendo Switch carry cases usually offer a hard shell clam design, which protects the console itself with bumpers and shock absorption while keeping the screen safe with a soft material. Plus, any nasty knocks and falls will put your console in danger if there isn't sufficient padding around it. The screens on these devices are particularly fragile, which means they will easily pick up scuffs and scratches if left loose in a bag. If you're going to be taking your console out with you, a Nintendo Switch case is not only well worth the often small price, but is an essential buy. This case will be a little thicker than others, but your accessories won't be pressed hard against your console when packed up. Carry cases can vary greatly in size, but if you're looking for a happy medium (8 games, a Jo圜on or two, and a few cables), we'd recommend finding a case that offers a recessed hard shell mesh pocket. The height of your Nintendo Switch case will depend on how many accessories you want to include. There's only 0.1-inches in it, but it makes all the difference, and picking up a too-small case will put unnecessary pressure on your console in transit. Failing that, you'll need to check that your Nintendo Switch case will support the 9.5-inch length of the OLED model. Given the OLED's additional size, you'll need a case that states that it has been specifically designed for the new device. The first thing you should check when buying a Nintendo Switch case is whether it will fit your console. Nintendo Switch case FAQs How big should a Nintendo Switch case be? While it's providing basic bumper protection (there's nothing keeping the screen or thumbsticks safe in your bag), this is a particularly cheap Nintendo Switch case and you're still getting peace of mind against drops and scuffs. The Hori Duraflexi shell is clear, allowing your console's natural beauty to shine through. You may have put some considerable thought into the color of your Nintendo Switch Lite, so why cover it up with a boring case. Ask a new question Source codeĭCode retains ownership of the "Pi Digits 3.14159…" source code. Richard Feynman, a renowned physicist, mentioned this phenomenon as a mathematical curiosity and pointed out that he would like to memorize and recite the decimals of π until he arrives at nine, nine, nine, nine, nine, nine to finish with and so on! in order to make a layman who would listen to him believe that π is a rational number. I (Dave) personally use the Project Euler problems as a springboard for playing around with new programming languages. The Feynman point is a sequence of six consecutive 9s ( 999999) that appears early in the decimal places of Pi, precisely at the 762nd decimal place. They're great fun, and you might learn something if you're not careful. Project Euler hosts an increasingly difficult series of problems that you can solve using a mix of mathematical knowledge and computer programming. If you found some of these examples fun, you should immediately run off and check out Project Euler. Playing with math and programs - beyond Pi The Computer Language Benchmarks Game has a pi digits benchmark program in go that's also available in many other programming languages. This is the same algorithm as the Go version by Dave linked above. Literateprograms has Machin's formula in five languages.Several ways to compute Pi have been implemented in multiple languages if you want to compare across languages: He also has a more in-depth explanation of the math behind using Machin's formula for Pi.Ĭomputing Pi can be useful as a benchmark of computer or program speed - or just fun. NCW implements the Chudnovsky algorithm in Python to compute 100 million digits of Pi, in under 10 minutes. You can implement it in Python in about 17 lines of code. Machin's formula, invented in 1706, was used to set a new record ( see 'why is pi important' for a list of records) of 100 digits of Pi. What better language to play with Pi than one that starts with Py? Nick Craig-Wood has written up a great series of articles about using Python to compute Pi, and the good learning site offers a few as well: Compute square roots at high precision using Newton's Method in Go.įor more information about Go, check out their excellent online Go tutorial. To compute square roots at high precision, something Go doesn't support In order to use it, though, we need to be able Way to compute Pi is to use the Chudnovsky formula. Machin's formula is great, but it's not that fast. The number of times each decimal digit (0-9) occurs in Pi And once you've computed Pi to an interesting number of digits, here's an extension to the above program that.Using that arccot function, we'll now compute Pi using the basic Machin's formula: Compute Pi in Go using Machin's Formula.Compute the arc cotangent to high precision using Go - our first step is to define the arc contangent function. Next, we compute the arccot using the taylor series expansion: Take a quick look at a program that computes x y using big.Int in go to make this more clear. The only thing to remember is that a statement like sum.Div(unity, bigx) sets the value of Sum to be equal to unity / bigx. Far too small! Unfortunately, using big number support makes the programs a little harder to read, but it's not too bad. If we were limited to those, we'd only get about 20 digits of Pi, which you could memorize in just an hour. In order to compute more digits of Pi, we have to turn to Go's support for "big" integers - those larger than 2 64, or 18,446,744,073,709,551,616. Compute Pi using Machin's formula in Go, floating-point version. The program is easy to understand, but note that it only computes Pi accurately to 16 digits! First, we'll do it using native 64-bit floating point math, available in almost any programming language. Plan backups: Determine when drive failure is imminent so you can create an updated backup of your data in advance or transfer it to a new drive.Maximize warranty: For new drives, quickly identify issues that resulted in DOA (“Dead on Arrival”) and qualify for refund or replacement.Prevent unexpected failures: Avoid sudden drive failures (which can further damage said drive) by identifying issues before they get worse.Optimize performance: Maintain your drive’s performance by addressing issues like bad sectors and file system errors, which can cause slowdowns and errors.Prevent data loss: Keep your data safe by knowing your drive’s health status so you can avoid getting blindsided by errors and sudden failures, which may directly or indirectly lead to data loss. They can save you time, money, and a lot of frustration. Why It is Vital to Check Drive Health in MacOSĪs we previously mentioned, there are significant benefits to periodically checking your Mac’s drive health. How do I run Disk Utility from Terminal?.How do I know if my external hard drive is corrupted on Mac?.How to Check Mac Hard Drive Health Using Terminal. For more information visit Why It is Vital to Check Drive Health in MacOS Shirley Zhang is a data recovery expert in DataNumen, Inc., which is the world leader in data recovery technologies, including repair mdf and outlook repair software products. You can select a good-quality and reliable one on the market. For example, there are many external tools that could analyze and monitor S.M.A.R.T. Of course, you can employ third party software as well. Third Party UtilityĪll listed above are the internal and free methods to check the health of your Mac internal hard drive. Subsequently, just follow the onscreen wizard to let it run. Then, start Mac and hold down “D” key until you see the “Apple Diagnostics” icon. First off, disconnect all external devices from Mac. Thereby, you can apply this tool as well. Apple DiagnosticsĪpple Diagnostics, formerly Apple Hardware Test, is an inbuilt tool for checking hardware issues on Mac, including hard drive. In the displaying terminal window, you can type “diskutil verifyVolume ” to verify a drive on Mac. Reboot Mac and hold down “Command + S” key buttons at the same time to enter the Single User Mode. Therefore, you can try command line as well. It can offer users to perform disk check and maintenance from the terminal. Command Lineĭisk Utility on Mac system also has a command line equivalent. Ultimately, in lower right corner, click “Verify Disk” to check drive health. In its screen, you could select the Mac internal drive from the left side menu and hit “First Aid” tab. You can find and launch it after accessing “Applications” > “Utilities” folder. Disk UtilityĪside from obvious Mac poor performance, you could make full use of the built-in disk scan and repair tool, too. More specifically, if you discover that your Mac works strangely slowly, or the Mac begins to become overheated too fast, or you hear grinding sounds from Mac, or Mac frequently gets stuck or crashes suddenly, you can suspect that Mac’s internal hard drive is malfunctioning and demanding a repair. Here we will list out 5 most common and effective approaches.įirst of all, the most direct and simplest means is through your own experience on Mac. Many users are confused about how to do that. Meanwhile, apart from periodical backups, you have to check hard drive health at regular intervals. Thus, as you know, this’s the main reason why we always suggest backing up drive data on a regular basis. Once your Mac’s internal hard drive gets corrupted, it is sure that the inner data will be compromised as well, like PST corruption. It doesn’t matter whether your Mac is equipped with a hard disk drive (HDD) or a solid state drive (SSD). It’s an unquestioned fact that hard drive will definitely fail finally with time going on. So as to protect your Mac data, you have to check the health of internal hard drive. Yet, every hard drive will fail eventually. Hard drive is a greatly important component of a computer, no matter Windows PC or Mac. The bear concept was eventually scrapped due to Leach's son having an interest in dinosaurs after visiting a Science Place exhibit.Īfter the initial concept was devised, The Lyons Group hired various local production crew personnel to help further develop the show. They also concluded that imagination needed to play a big role, as well as having loving messages. įrom their research, around twenty essential concepts were devised, such as using live-action instead of animation so children could better relate, having children as role-models, featuring simple music and having a familiar setting. The duo took inspiration from their own childhood programs like Romper's Room, Captain Kangaroo and The Mickey Mouse Club while also combining aspects of the then current kids' programs like Sesame Street and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Both Leach and Parker began testing videos on their children, taking notes of what worked and what didn't work, as well as going to different preschools for research. Parker also had a 2-year-old child named Kaitlin. When Sheryl pitched Barney & The Backyard Gang to her father-in-law Richard, he asked that Kathy help to develop the character and show concept. Sheryl's idea was brought to production at The Lyons Group, Leach, who was Sheryl's father-in-law, agreed to back her with the project with $700,000 of his own money. The board she proposed to turned her down. At the time Sheryl Leach was working at DLM, Inc. Sheryl Leach proposed a preschool video series, which eventually would be Barney & The Backyard Gang, to DLM, Inc (Developmental Learning Materials). Leach thought the idea of a talking blanket and teddy bear interacting with children were a neat idea, however, the blanket concept was too hard to pull off. Her initial thought was the notice of children carrying snugly security objects, such as blankets and teddy bears. This prompted Leach to develop a show herself. At the time, the only thing that could hold Patrick’s attention was a “Wee Sing” video. At this time, the only preschool aged programs around were Sesame Street and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, however, they appealed to a larger age range, rather than strictly toddlers. In fall 1987, Leach was stuck in a traffic jam thinking about the lack of videos that held the attention of her 2-year-old son, Patrick. Jamie, though, is a former England Under-19s goalkeeper who has been on Chelsea’s books since the age of eight. Yes, that is a legitimate British surname – likely of Norman origin, and nowadays fairly common in north-eastern Scotland. On that note, let’s move on to Jamie Cumming. With his tiki-taka philosophy, don’t be surprised if Condom comes to a EFL Championship club near you soon. He’s since worked extensively in Belgium, and currently manages Beveren in the second division. Now that Argel’s spoiled all our fun, Condom has become the butt of every giggly FMer’s smutty joke.Īfter an unremarkable playing career, Jordi began his coaching journey at Barcelona’s youth set-up. I mention that because Waasland-Beveren manager Jordi Condom was born in the summer of ’69 in Palamós, Catalonia – about 440 kilometres away from that French town. Some people say that the name comes from the town of Condom-en-Armagnac, in south-west France. Yeah, yeah, we all know what a condom is – but nobody knows exactly what it is named after. As you would expect from a guy who’s literally named Assmann, he is “considering the possibility of taking up goalkeeper coaching once his playing career is over”. While it might be some time before Fabián hangs up his gloves on FM22, you can still have a peek at his Long-Term Plans. Though he never quite reached those heights again, he is still going strong at age 36, playing for Defensores Belgrano in the second division. Fábian Assmann is a journeyman goalkeeper who has played in the Argentinian leagues for the best part of 15 years, excluding a couple of brief spells in Spain and Mexico.Īssmann started at Independiente, making 107 league appearances for ‘El Rojo’ and winning the Copa Sudamericana in 2010, when he was 24. We now go from a Brazilian manager to an Argentine ass-man… but this fella’s not quite ready to go into coaching. He officially changed his surname to Fuchs in 2020, which sadly means that FM22 players can’t make any more lame jokes about Argel Fucks. That’s right – it’s a typo.Īrgel is now a manager, and is currently in charge of Alverca in Portugal’s third tier. Several other European surnames have similar vulpine origins, such as De Vos, Renard and Volpi.īut hang on… why’s it spelt with a ‘K’? Well, it turns out there was a mistake at the registry office in southern Brazil when little Argel was born in 1974. However, I tend not to use profanities on Fuller FM, so I’m trying hard not to repeat it here.ĭespite the obvious ‘double entendre’, this surname actually derives from Fuchs – the German word for fox (which incidentally makes Leicester’s Christian Fuchs the most aptly-named Premier League champion ever). It even spawned this great Eurosport headline when he joined arch-rivals Benfica in 2001. Many of us were making quips about Argel’s surname way back on Championship Manager 99/00, when he was playing at centre-half for Porto. We start with one of THE iconic names in FM history. Any name that sounds very suggestive in English probably means something perfectly innocent in its native language… I’ll tell the tales of the players behind the names, and even explain some of their origins. Today, I’ll be looking at some of the more unusual names you can find on FM22. Many of these can even be passed onto newly-generated players, so the possibilities for amusing names are truly endless. There are over 600,000 people in the Football Manager database, so there are bound to be plenty of weird, wacky and wonderful names. And as that very real Championship Manager advert from 1996 shows, the Premier League used to be full of innuendo! Now for something completely different here on Fuller FM!įootball has had its fair share of amusing monikers over the years – from the 19th-century England forward Harry Daft to the aptly-named Celtic flop Rafael Scheidt, via the iconic Paraguayan right-back Chiqui Arce. This was an actual advert for Championship Manager 96/97 – and all those names belonged to actual Premier League players! The second hunter shot at the bear with a 9 mm pistol using FMJ ammunition. One hunter fired on the bear with his shotgun loaded with small game shot (#6 as I recall). In the mid-1960s I read an article complete with photographs of an attack by a black bear upon three rabbit hunters. When the bear stood on his hind legs and advanced on the trio the guide shot him twice in the head with a 10 mm Glock dropping the bear dead on the spot. I read an account of a large grizzly bear walking into a hunting camp occupied by two hunters and their guide. While all the details are not available, the principle facts reported here are generally correct. I have described these accounts to the best of my recollection. I have obtained information about the events described in this article from newspaper accounts, personal interviews, periodical publications and books on the subject. I have studied the subject of Predator Defense for 55 years. Note that the pepper spray used by Law Enforcement Officers to subdue criminals works in some cases and does not work in many others. I suspect that the data is purposely misleading because park officials do not want bears being shot unnecessarily and would prefer outdoorsmen try to use a non-lethal alternative. We have learned that every time a Ranger uses pepper spray to chase a nuisance bear away from a camp ground it is counted as a successful defensive application. Pepper spray in our opinion is over rated. I have found a recent case where a woman used pepper spray on an attacking bear and it did not work. The other common answer from those who comment on firearms for predator defense insist that pepper spray is the only way to go. 500 S&W whenever they are off the concrete? Anyone who could and would carry any of the above mentioned firearms is not in need of advice from people who probably don’t know any more about the subject than they do. How many of the people who ask these questions have the skill to use such a firearm? How many of them would be inclined to carry a shoulder weapon or a large heavy. These answers are of no use what so ever to most people. The only handgun which might work is the. 45/70 or a 12-gauge slug is useful for predator defense. The most common answer given is: “Nothing less than a. When hikers, fishermen, or others who frequent the “great outdoors” ask what handgun or ammunition is best for predator defense they almost never receive accurate or useful advice. New faces Olivia Dudley, Brittany Shaw, Don McManus, Cara Pifko, Dan Gill, Chris J. With a small low budget film of course comes a small low budget cast. This movie should be rated PG-13 for no sudden jump scares, no invincible antagonists, and no reason to fear anything in this film. And without any spoilers what is seen is by far the most ridiculous thing and quite possibly the worst executive decision ever made in a film.Īnother element that was excised was the actual horror in this horror film. The 'evolution' of this demon culminated at this films' conclusion. At parts during the film, this mass was given a hideous face that stunk of cheap CGI and was almost comedic to look at. It looks like some sort of black liquidy mass darting around the room not posing any legitimate threat to its victims. Now with the magical camera, we can actually see the demon, and it's not a good look. The invisible entity unleashing chaos, murder, and destruction everywhere it went was a credible threat. Along with that, Gregory Plotkin (who is not known for any decent work) removed all elements that made this saga engaging. There was a point in the movie where two characters were having an in depth conversation about Santa Clause and I knew that there was nothing the movie could do at that point to redeem itself. Often in the script you can see the writers killing time. The sheer boredom of this movie is unbearable, and 90 minutes was far too long. The plot itself has been recycled TOO MANY TIMES. It is evident that the writers have run out of ideas this time. This is the Paranormal activity series' 6th film and is by far the worst installment. I want to start off by saying that this movie is disappointing in every sense of the word. |
